Area residents are invited to downtown Lake View Wednesday evening to enjoy family fun and shopping during the first Meet Me on Main event of the summer. City Administrator, Scott Peterson, says it was introduced last year, and they have decided to keep the tradition going this season.
Peterson says they accomplish several things through Meet Me on Main. It helps build upon the already strong sense of community in Lake View and also highlights the diverse array of businesses found within the community. Many stores will remain open later than usual on Wednesday evening.
In addition to the fun and shopping, Peterson says the Lake View Police Department will be hosting a special course for children to learn all about bike safety.
Meet Me on Main begins at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19 in Lake View’s Market Square and lasts until 8 p.m. Two more of these events are planned for the summer: one in July and another in August.
