Lake View City Council Approves $30K Contribution To Community’s Library Expansion

Lake View officials are optimistic a proposed library expansion project will be out to bid by the end of next month and are in the process of securing the last funding pieces. The project is estimated to cost about $365,000, and Administrator, Scott Peterson, says it will significantly change the structure’s footprint.

According to Peterson, the library has about two-thirds of the $365,000 price tag on hand and is hoping to raise the remaining amount through public and private contributions. One of the first entities they approached was the Lake View City Council.

With only $95,000 left to raise, Peterson says the project’s supporters have already set their sights on soliciting donations from residents and businesses.

Peterson adds library staff are also actively pursuing multiple grant opportunities. Groundbreaking for the project is expected to occur in the spring of 2020.
