The annual town-hall meeting for the Kuemper Catholic School System will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 in the high school cafeteria. President, John Steffes, says they adopted a five-year strategic plan two years ago, and part of it is to report on their progress annually. The board is divided into six main committees, and Thursday night’s reports come from these groups.
Steffes says there are a few highlights that will come out in the estimated hour and a half meeting. The One Campus Study was completed within the past year. Although the board decided not to merge into one campus, there were some other ideas that did arise.
He adds there are no perfect models out there, each has its pros and cons so they are working their way through those to determine what is best for their system. He adds that there won’t be as many large improvements taking place over the course of the summer break, but they will be looking to do some parking lot improvements and other maintenance items. The committees will also give an update on their capital campaign and marketing efforts to develop welcoming families and mentors for those interested in learning more about the school. Again, that town hall meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Kuemper High School cafeteria Thursday, Feb. 21.
