Kiron Woman Faces Felony Drug Charges After Authorities Discover Methamphetamine During Booking

The Sac County Sheriff’s Office reports a Kiron woman was taken into custody over the weekend on multiple drug charges. At approximately 2:07 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, a deputy performed a traffic stop near the intersection of Highway 71 and 270th Street for an equipment violation on a vehicle driven by 46-year-old Linda Ann Baker. Law enforcement determined Baker had outstanding arrest warrants in Buena Vista and Crawford Counties and took her into custody. Prior to be booked into the Sac County jail, Baker was asked if she possessed any controlled substances, which she denied. As she was being processed, approximately 0.68 grams of methamphetamine and a glass smoking device was found on her person. In addition to the existing warrants, Baker was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor, and possession of a controlled substance in a correctional institution, a class D felony. If found guilty of both counts, she faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and $8,125 in fines.
