Jury Trial For Carroll Man Accused Of Sexual Contact With A Minor Moved To November

The trial for a Carroll man accused of having sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl has been pushed back a month. Nineteen-year-old Devon Dewaine Lentz is charged with one count of lascivious acts with a child, a class C felony, in District Court for Carroll County. His trial was slated to begin Tuesday, Oct. 22. However, a motion filed today (Tuesday) by Carroll County Attorney, John Werden, requested a new trial date due to a scheduling conflict with a forensic interviewer who will testify during the case. A judge approved that motion and rescheduled the trial for Nov. 19 at the courthouse. The charge stems from an investigation by the Carroll Police Department into an incident on May 6. Authorities say Lentz went to the victim’s home, kissed her on the lips, and engaged in indecent sexual contact. If found guilty, Lentz faces up to 10 years in prison and $10,000 in fines
