A Jefferson man received a serious warning after allegedly threatening campaign staffers for one of the 2020 presidential candidates. The Jefferson Police Department reports they were contacted by the Fort Dodge Police Department at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. They were asked to speak with a male resident in the 900 block of South Elm Street who had made threats to workers with the Joe Biden campaign there. Officers initiated contact with the man, who said he had no intention of carrying out any of the threats, he was simply tired of receiving phone calls from these staffers. The information received by the officers was passed on to the Secret Service.
