Newly updated emergency lighting equipment in one of the Jefferson Police Department patrol vehicles has been supported by a grant from the Alliant Energy Foundation. Last week, a check for $1,500 was presented to the department for the upgrade. The new lighting equipment not only keeps the officers safe while on patrol or responding to emergencies, but it also helps ensure public safety by increasing visibility. Captain, Heath A. Enns, thanked the Alliant Energy Foundation for the grant and for helping to ensure the department’s safety. “The equipment will be put to good use,” Enns says.
