The Jefferson Police Department was called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident at approximately 5:22 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of North Locust and East Washington Streets. A 2000 Ford F-150, driven by Hasan Sadikovic of Des Moines, was southbound on North Locust and the driver failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle. Sadikovic struck a 2008 Volkswagen Touareg that was being driven by Ricky Knight of Jefferson. The Sadikovic vehicle had a reported $1,000 in damages and the Volkswagen suffered $5,000 in damage. No injuries were reported. Sadikovic was cited for failure to obey a yield sign.
