One driver was airlifted out for treatment of serious injuries following a two-vehicle accident in Greene County Wednesday. The Iowa State Patrol reports the accident occurred at approximately 3:14 p.m. at 185th Street and V Avenue, southeast of Dana. The initial investigation shows that 18-year-old Connor Gunn of Jefferson was northbound on V Avenue in a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado K2500. At that same time, a 2016 Mack semi-tractor trailer, driven by 33-year-old Wade Sohm of Grand Junction, was southbound. Authorities believe that gravel dust reduced visibility and contributed to a head-on collision. Gunn was airlifted to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines and Sohm was transported to the Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Emergency Medical Services. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Junction and Jefferson Fire Departments and Iowa Motor Vehicle Enforcement also assisted at the scene.
