Jefferson Man Accused Of Stalking Juvenile Arrested Friday

A Jefferson man accused of stalking a juvenile female was taken into custody late last week. Sixty-five-year-old Carl William Hale was arrested by the Jefferson Police Department on an outstanding warrant at approximately 9:49 p.m. on Friday, June 28 in the 400 block of East Madison Street. The warrant stems from an investigation that began on May 30. The victim reported repeated and unwanted attention from Hale at two different places of employment. The officers advised him the contact was to cease, but authorities determined it had continued despite the warning. Hale was transported to the Greene County jail and charged with stalking, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was released on his own recognizance after appearing before a magistrate. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 17 at the Greene County Courthouse. If found guilty, Hale faces a maximum penalty of two years in prison and $6,250 in fines.
