Iowa’s Fourth District Republican Chairs And Co-Chairs Draft Resolution Of Unanimous Support For Congressman Steve King

Over the course of the weekend, the chairs and co-chairs of all 39 counties in Iowa’s Fourth Congressional District announced the adoption of a resolution of support for Congressman Steve King. The Executive Committee also said they reject the allegations made by the New York Times and that they will be sending a letter to GOP Minority Leader, Kevin McCarthy, and Minority Whip, Steve Scalise, to ask that King be reinstated to committee assignments. Chairman for the King for Congress campaign, Jeff King, says this unanimous show of support confirms King was railroaded by a phony “hit piece” from the New York Times. “Passage of this resolution proves correct what Congressman King has always said: people throughout the 4th District know him personally, and they know the picture his opportunistic political opponents in the establishment are painting of him bears no resemblance to reality,” Jeff King says. The district’s Republicans, he adds, see how important it is to have Congressman King be a pro-life and pro-family choice in Washington and they will expect more than just blind acceptance of misquotes from their party’s leadership.
