A 49-year tradition continues this year with Iowa Public Television’s (IPTV) coverage of Iowa State Fair highlights. It all starts tonight (Wednesday), the night before the fair, with the 6:15 p.m. Iowa State Fair Parade in Downtown Des Moines. This will not only be broadcast live statewide, it will also be livestreamed on Facebook and on Iptv.org. Coverage picks back up with nightly highlights airing Monday, Aug. 12 through Saturday, Aug. 17 at 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. IPTV will feature results from various contests, unique stories, food, animals, music and much more. Episodes will be rebroadcast back-to-back on Sunday, Aug. 18 beginning at 2 p.m. and then followed by the finals of the State Fair Talent Championship 2019 at 8 p.m. This year, IPTV will also broadcast the Shining Stars Talent Show, a new competition organized by the Bill Riley Talent Show for contestants up to 30 years of age and those with special needs.
