Iowa Department Of Revenue Offering Filing And Payment Extension For Farmers And Fishermen

The Iowa Department of Revenue on Thursday announced they are granting extensions on the filing and paying of 2018 taxes for specific taxpayers without underpayment of estimated tax penalty. Those who earn at least two-thirds of their income from farming or commercial fishing will now have until April 30 to file their returns. The state extension decision was made after the Internal Revenue Service announced Thursday they will provide extensions through April 15 for these two groups. The Iowa Department of Revenue finds the extension and waiver by the IRS to be an unusual circumstance that warranted a similar extension waiver for Iowa income tax purposes.
