Iowa And National Realtors Associations Join Forces To Provide Assistance To Flood Victims

The Iowa Association of Realtors (IAR) and the National Association of Realtors (NAR) have joined forces to assist flood victims in western Iowa. The NAR’s Realtor Flood Relief Foundation has awarded the Iowa association a $250,000 grant, and the IAR has contributed another $25,000. The money will be used to assist individual households impacted by the flooding. “The floods are far-reaching in Iowa, impacting hundreds of thousands of Iowans. Fifty-nine of Iowa’s 99 counties were declared disaster areas by Governor Reynolds. Many of our neighbors have sustained heavy losses,” says IAR President, John Geode. “Iowa residents are known for helping their neighbors in need. The Iowa Association of Realtors is committed to assisting Iowans recover from this disaster,” he adds. The assistance grants of up to $1,000 can be used to help with mortgage payments or the cost to rent housing due to displacement.
