Housing issues have been at the forefront of conversations in Carroll and the surrounding area for several years, and those with a vested interest in development of solutions are invited to the Western Iowa Advantage Housing Summit on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at the Carrollton Inn. Executive Director of Carroll Area Development Corporation (CADC) and the Carroll Chamber of Commerce, Shannon Landauer, says there are not many communities in the Midwest right now that don’t face these challenges. All of these different towns and cities have come up with efforts at fixing them, and the summit is a way to hear what the experts have to say.
During the International Economic Development Council’s annual meeting a few weeks ago, a very interesting and positive statistic for rural Iowa was introduced. However, Landauer says, it means there needs to be a laser focus on the future of housing.
Community leaders, economic development professionals, business owners and developers of all different types of residential construction or rehabilitation are welcome to attend the summit.
