At their annual awards banquet on Monday night, Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation presented over $1.1 million in grants. In its fourth year of distributions, the nonprofit has taken five percent of the 2018 adjusted gross gaming revenues from Wild Rose Entertainment’s Jefferson casino and provided assistance to projects in Greene County as well as supporting community foundations. Those foundations are in the six counties that are contiguous to Greene, and each received $43,047. These include Boone, Calhoun, Carroll, Dallas, Guthrie and Webster. Several municipalities are sharing a total of more than $139,000 and two school districts, Greene County and Paton-Churdan, have each been pledged $24,000. In addition, over $268,000 was split between the Greene County Community Foundation, Development Corporation and Medical Center. Competitive grants of $329,000 were awarded to the cities of Scranton, Churdan and Jefferson along with other projects. A full listing can be found by double-clicking on the link below.
