Grassley Urges All Iowans To Call For EPA’s Full Support Of RFS Mandates

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Director, Andrew Wheeler, recently announced his plan to reverse the terms of a deal President Donald Trump made to ensure the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) is supported with 15-billion gallons of ethanol and biodiesel blends into the nation’s fuel supplies. Today (Wednesday), United States Senator, Chuck Grassley, is urging all Iowans to log onto the EPA website and express their support for upholding the promises made in the RFS. “I urge the EPA and its administrator, Mr. Wheeler, to adjust the proposed settlement rule to account for actual waived gallons using hard data from past practice to send an unambiguous signal to the marketplace,” he says. Grassley points to an erosion of trust in the EPA and their willingness to follow through on the promises made because of their ties to big oil. “They really don’t believe that’s going to happen, 15-billion gallons,” Grassley says, “and that the EPA’s found a way of getting around it, and still at the same time saying they’re doing exactly what was agreed to between the president and those of us that were in the Oval Office.” The deadline for comments is Nov. 29 and they can be made by following the link included below.
