Grassley Comments On Presidential Disaster Declaration For 56 Iowa Counties

U.S. Senator, Chuck Grassley, says he is grateful for President Donald Trump’s disaster declaration for 56 Iowa counties following the severe flooding. The declaration over the weekend includes several area counties including: Audubon, Calhoun, Carroll, Crawford, Greene, Guthrie and Sac. “I thank President Trump and FEMA for moving quickly to provide a major disaster declaration for Iowa,” Grassley says. “These emergency funds will be put to good use to help communities and individuals across the state recover from the devastating flooding. The massive recovery will be long, but Iowans are resilient,” he adds. Gov. Kim Reynolds has announced the creation of a call center at 211 that will operate 24/7 to answer questions from Iowans. Homeowners, renters, businesses and farmers can apply for assistance for the grants and direct services through the Individual Assistance Program and the Hazard Mitigation Program. Information is also available through Grassley’s website at www.grassley.senate.gov/flooding. Contact information for assistance applications can be found below.
