Grand Junction Man Arrested For Child Endangerment Following Arrest For OWI With Toddler Inside Vehicle

A Grand Junction man has been charged with child endangerment after he was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol with a toddler in the vehicle. According to a criminal complaint from the Carroll Police Department, 21-year-old Chaz Anthony Harvey was taken into custody following a traffic stop at approximately 7:29 p.m. on Sunday, March 10 in the 1000 block of Monterey Drive. Authorities say Harvey failed to pass a field sobriety test and registered a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .09 percent at the time of his arrest. The report also accuses him of having his two-year-old daughter in the vehicle during the incident. He was transported to the Carroll County jail and charged with first-offense operating under the influence, a serious misdemeanor, and child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was released from custody after posting a $3,300 bond and is scheduled to make his next court appearance on Thursday, March 14.
