Grain Truck Accident Near Sac City Occurs Nearly At The Same Time As Accident Involving Fatality Near Odebolt

The Sac County Police Department was called in to assist the Sac County Sheriff’s Office with a single-vehicle rollover accident Wednesday that occurred nearly at the same time as another accident near Odebolt involving a fatality. At approximately 4:55 p.m., authorities responded to U.S. Highway 20 near Wadsley Avenue, northeast of Sac City. Upon arrival, they learned that 43-year-old Jason Cole Strader of Fort Dodge was driving eastbound in the inside lane in a 2016 Kenworth grain truck. The truck dropped off the shoulder on the left-hand side of the road, and when Strader attempted to maneuver back onto the highway, he lost control. The truck slid across both lanes on the eastbound roadway, entered the south ditch and then rolled one time before coming to rest on its wheels. Strader was transported to Loring Hospital in Sac City by Sac County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. There was an estimated $30,000 in damage to the grain truck. Sac City Fire and Rescue also assisted at the scene.
