Gov. Reynolds Orders Flags To Half Staff In Honor And Remembrance Of Shooting Victims In Texas And Ohio

Gov. Kim Reynolds has ordered all state flags in Iowa to be lowered to half-staff effective immediately and to remain so until sunset on Thursday, Aug. 8 in honor and remembrance of the Aug. 3 and Aug. 4 tragic shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio. This order is in conjunction with one from President Donald Trump for the lowering of all United States flags to half-staff for the same period of time. Flags will be at half-staff on the State Capitol Building and on flag displays in the Capitol Complex and on all public buildings, grounds and facilities throughout the state. Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions are encouraged to follow suit.
