Four People Arrested Following Search Of Wall Lake Residence Earlier This Month

Four people have been arrested as a result of a search warrant executed in Wall Lake earlier this month. The Sac County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Lake View Police Department, entered the residence in the 300 block of Summit Street on the evening of Feb. 5 to search for evidence related to a forgery investigation. Once inside, the odor of marijuana was detected and a second warrant was requested to allow authorities to search for controlled substances. Inside the upper-level apartment, officers found marijuana and assorted pipes for smoking as well as two check books belonging to people who did not reside at the address and an antique box with hand tools. An occupant of the apartment, 24-year-old Braeden Hammond, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, second offense, an aggravated misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Thirty-three-year-old James Patrick Sexton of Lake View was arrested on an outstanding third-degree burglary warrant out of Sac County as well as for second-offense possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. First-offense possession charges were levied against 18-year-old Ann Carothers of Lake City, and 26-year-old William David Hutchinson of Wall Lake was taken into custody on an outstanding Sac County third-degree burglary warrant.
