The race is on for area-farmers to lend a helping hand to their school districts by simply filling out a nomination form. The America’s Farmers Grow America is accepting these nominations only through April 1. The selected districts will receive from $10,000 to $25,000 in grant money to support rural education, particularly the school’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, or STEM, curriculum. The only requirements are that the person submitting the nomination be 21 years of age or older and farm a minimum of 250 acres. In 2016, the IKM-Manning Community School District received the top award of $25,000 from the grant’s sponsor, the Bayer Fund. More information and access to the nomination forms can be found here.
