Families Of The Fallen To Honor Officer Justin Martin At Upcoming Festival

A non-profit organization that honors those who have lost their lives in the line of service to the United States of America has selected two families to be sponsored at the upcoming 2019 Tree Town Country Music Festival in Forest City. Families of the Fallen, Inc. has selected the families of Justin S. Martin and Anthony “Tony” Beminio as the honorees during the Memorial Day weekend festival. Martin was 24 years old and was a Rockwell City native. He served as a police officer with the Urbandale Police Department. The 38-year-old Beminio was a sergeant with the Des Moines Police Department. Both were killed in an ambush-style shooting on Nov. 2, 2016. Their killer, Scott Michael Greene, eventually plead guilty to two counts of first-degree murder and is serving life in prison without the possibility of parole. The families of the fallen officers will receive an all-inclusive package to the festival. The non-profit organization is working toward a goal of being able to also assist current and retired members of the Military, Law Enforcement, Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) with hardships they suffer as a result of their service.
