Emergency crews were dispatched to a fatal, car/semi accident on the northeast side of Carroll shortly before noon today (Monday). The Carroll Police and Fire Departments, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Carroll County Emergency Medical Services all responded to the scene of the accident at the intersection of E. 18th Street and Noble Ave at approximately 11:45 a.m. Authorities closed Griffith Road from Highway 30 to 180th Street and roadways near the intersection for several hours Monday afternoon while investigating the circumstances of the accident. These roads have been reopened to traffic. The Iowa State Patrol and the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division also responded to the scene.
