One vehicle was totaled, but no injuries were reported, in a rear-end collision Monday east of Carroll. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on U.S. Highway 30 near Phoenix Avenue at approximately 9:39 p.m. Two vehicles, a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by 23-year-old Jason Robert Grossman of Glidden, and a 2014 Ford F-250, driven by 53-year-old Marc Daniel Snitker of Waukon, were both eastbound on 30. Grossman told officials he was distracted and did not see Snitker slowing to turn north onto Phoenix Avenue and struck the rear end of the truck. The Grand Prix was totaled and there was an estimated $1,500 in damage to the F-250. Grossman was cited for excessive speed.
