DNR Offers Iowans Multiple Opportunities To Purchase Trees At Discounted Price

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is once again offering discounted trees this spring. The Residential Tree Program is available to all Iowa residents wishing to cut back on energy bills and improve the look of their property. Up to two trees can be purchased per planting address for $30 each. A variety of oak, hickory, spruce and pine species are available to order and can be picked up at three locations, the nearest in Council Bluffs on Saturday, April 27. The second program offering trees is Operation ReLeaf. The DNR has partnered with Alliant Energy to offer a mixture of hardwood, ornamental and evergreen species to the company’s customers for only $25 each. Operation ReLeaf also has three separate pick-up locations, the closest in Atlantic on Thursday, April 25. Supplies for both programs are limited, and orders are requested as soon as possible to guarantee delivery. Follow the link included with this story on our website for more information or to reserve your trees.
