Denison Man Faces More Than 30 Years In Prison On Drug Charges In Carroll County District Court

Formal charges have been brought in District Court for Carroll County against a Denison man accused of drug trafficking. According to trial information filed last week by prosecutors, 29-year-old Gerardo Emmanuel Medina faces one count of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver with a habitual offender enhancement, a class B felony, third-offense possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, a class D felony, and carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor. These charges stem from an arrest on March 6 by the Manning Police Department. He was found with nearly six grams of marijuana, 13 grams of methamphetamine and a switchblade knife. He remains in custody at the Carroll County jail, and an arraignment hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 17 at the Carroll County Courthouse. If found guilty of the charges, Medina faces a maximum penalty of 32 years in prison and nearly $14,000 in fines.
