Denison Man Faces Felony Drug Charges In Carroll County District Court

A Denison man accused of drug trafficking while armed made his initial appearance in District Court for Carroll County earlier this week. Twenty-nine-year-old Gerardo Emmanuel Medina has been charged with a controlled substance violation, a class B felony, third-offense possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, a class D felony, and carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor. The charges stem from an incident on March 6 in Manning. According to criminal complaints from the Manning Police Department, Medina was found in possession of nearly six grams of marijuana, more than 13 grams of methamphetamine and a switchblade knife at the time of his arrest. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, June 16 at the Carroll County Courthouse. If found guilty, Medina faces a maximum penalty of more than 30 years in prison and nearly $14,000 in fines. He remains in custody at the Carroll County jail on a $10,000 bond.
