Denison Man Accused Of Drug Trafficking Reaches Plea Agreement With Prosecutors

A Denison man accused of drug trafficking in District Court for Carroll County has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors. Thirty-year-old Gerardo Emmanuel Medina was arrested on March 6 by the Manning Police Department after 13 grams of methamphetamine, 6 grams of marijuana, packaging materials and a switchblade knife were found in his possession. According to court records, Medina was originally charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver, a class B felony, third-offense possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony, and carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor. A filed plea agreement shows Medina shall enter a guilty plea to a reduced charge, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver, five grams or less, a class C felony, and carrying weapons. The remaining charge, two counts of driving while barred and several traffic violations will be dismissed. A pre-sentencing investigation has been ordered with Medina’s sentencing hearing scheduled for Jan. 13 at the courthouse.
