Coon Rapids Man Pleads Not Guilty To Crashing Truck While Intoxicated With Baby In Back Seat

A Coon Rapids man accused of rolling his truck while intoxicated with a baby inside has entered not guilty pleas to the charges filed against him. Carroll County District Court records indicate 23-year-old Brian Patrick Anthofer’s written pleas to one count of child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor, and one count of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, a serious misdemeanor, were submitted Sept. 12. Those charges stem from an incident on Aug. 27 about a mile northwest of Coon Rapids. Authorities allege Anthofer was intoxicated when he flipped a 2004 GMC Sierra K1500 on a field entrance. Anthofer and a 14-month-old passenger were both treated for injuries sustained in the accident. His jury trial is scheduled to begin on Oct. 22 at the courthouse. A pretrial conference has been scheduled for Oct. 10. If found guilty, Anthofer faces a maximum penalty of two years in prison and more than $8,000 in fines.
