The City of Auburn has issued a preemptive boil advisory for the community’s water customers. The order goes into effect tomorrow (Saturday) morning. Beginning at 8 a.m., water services will be turned off on East 1st Street, East 2nd Street and portions of West Spruce Street while the city completes water main repairs. Due to the possibility for bacterial contamination, officials recommend residents should boil water for at least one minute before use for consumption, or an alternative source should be utilized. Once water service is restored, the advisory will remain active until further notice.
