Charges are pending the completion of investigations into two incidents in Jefferson over the weekend. The Jefferson Police Department reports they were assisted by deputies from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office in the execution of a search warrant Sunday. At approximately 6:53 a.m., the search was conducted in the 300 block of East State Street, where items suspected to be narcotics and paraphernalia were seized. Charges in that case are pending lab results. Authorities are also investigating an attempted forgery. The department was notified by Sparky’s One Stop at approximately 7:33 p.m. Sunday evening that a male and female had presented a check written off the account of a deceased person. That investigation is ongoing.
