Character Award Nominations Due In By May 1

Time is running out to make a nomination for the Robert D. and Billie Ray Center Iowa Character Awards through Drake University. Since its inception in 2005, the Iowa Character Awards has recognized more than 100 Iowans who have exemplified the six pillars of Character Counts!: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility; fairness, caring and good citizenship. The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, May 1 and the forms and rules can be found through the link included here. Any Iowa citizen (10 or older), organization, school or community that has not received an Iowa Character Award in the past 5 years is eligible to apply. Youth nominees should be between the ages of 10 and 18. Family, friends, co-workers or other community members can submit nominations. Award categories include Citizen of Character, one for a youth nominee and one for an adult; Organization of Character; Community of Character; Educator of Character; and School of Character.
