An announcement regarding the selection of the next Carroll Community School District (CCSD) superintendent is expected sometime late tonight (Thursday) or early tomorrow (Friday). The board of education has narrowed the original pool of 22 applicants down to three finalists: Marty Fonley, former superintendent in Algona and Carroll’s current interim superintendent; Dr. Casey Berlau, the shared superintendent at the Nodaway Valley and CAM School Districts; and Alan Miller, superintendent at the Murray Community School District. Interviews began in closed session at 11 a.m. this morning (Thursday), and the board is scheduled to return to open session around 8 p.m. to potentially offer a contract.
