Carroll County Native Coming Home To Serve Coon Rapids Patients At St. Anthony Clinic

The St. Anthony Clinic in Coon Rapids is welcoming a new Certified Physician Assistant, Cassie (Gehling) Esdohr. She is replacing David Nystrom, D.O., who had served at St. Anthony for more than 16 years. Esdohr is a native of Carroll County and she and her husband, Jacob, will call Coon Rapids home. “We look forward to returning to a community that gave us so much growing up,” Esdohr says. “This opportunity has given us the chance to return home, to be close to family and friends and begin the next chapter of our lives.” Esdohr is coming to St. Anthony from the Madison County Health Care System, where she served as a physician assistant in the areas of urgent care and family medicine. She was raised on a farm south of Halbur and attended Kuemper Catholic Schools. She earned her bachelor of science degree in kinesiology and health from Iowa State University and completed her master of physician assistant certification at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. “We extend our thanks to Dr. Nystrom for his service to St. Anthony and wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” says President and CEO, Ed Smith. “It’s always exciting to see the next generation of medical providers return to west central Iowa to provide health care services for the families they grew up alongside.” Esdohor says she takes a patient-centered approach to care and is respectful and responsive to her patient’s needs and values, including them in their health decisions. Appointments with Esdohr can be scheduled by calling 712-999-2237.
