The Carroll County Board of Supervisors expressed their gratitude, along with their regrets, as they accepted the resignation of long-time County Engineer, Dave Paulson, on Tuesday morning. Paulson, who has served in this current role for 34 years, will be retiring effective Jan. 2, 2020. Before becoming the county engineer in Buchanan County, Paulson was assistant engineer in Carroll County for about six years in the 1970s. On Dec. 11, 2013, he was selected to receive one of the top honors in his profession and was presented the Outstanding County Engineering Achievement Award from the Iowa County Engineers Association. The award recognizes outstanding professional and technical achievements and the recipient is selected by their peers. Paulson graduated from Iowa State University in 1972 with a degree in civil engineering. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more from Paulson and reaction from supervisors in upcoming broadcasts.
