We have not even hit the Memorial Day kick-off to summer yet, but campsite reservations for the Fourth of July will be opening soon. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) says those anxious to lock down their spot for the popular camping holiday should mark April 4 on their calendars as reservations will open that day. Campers are able to make reservations at campgrounds around the state three months ahead of their first night’s stay. Seventy five percent of electric and nonelectric sites are reservable with the remaining open for walk-up camping that week. Information and reservation links are included below.
