In less than two weeks, crowds will gather in Breda for one of the largest fireworks displays and Independence Day celebrations in the region. July 4 falls on a Thursday this year, and the Breda American Legion has pushed their annual festivities back a few days to fall on Saturday, July 6. Bob Fasbender, one of the many individuals helping to plan the celebration, says they intend to continue their longstanding tradition of hosting an incredible fireworks show.
Fireworks are expected to start around 10 p.m. Prior to the display, Fasbender says they have a full lineup of fun for the whole family.
Raffle tickets can be purchased for only $1, and each has a chance to win a grill, a handmade wooden flag, a cash payout or a rocking chair. Money raised from ticket sales will be used to help purchase fireworks for the 2020 celebration. Fasbender says they have also added a special recognition for veterans, which will start at 8 p.m.
Fasbender adds there is a reason their Independence Day celebration is always so well attended, and he encourages everybody to join them on Saturday, July 6 at Breda City Park.
