Both Cars Suffer Major Damage In Friday Morning Accident West Of Carroll

Disabling damage was reported in a two-vehicle accident Friday morning just west of Carroll. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to Jade Avenue and U.S. Highway 30 at approximately 8:57 a.m. They found a 1999 Ford Ranger, driven by 68-year-old William Bernard Kane of Carroll, was stopped on Highway 30 facing westbound, waiting to make a turn south onto Jade Avenue. Another vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by 45-year-old Sarah Marie Zach of Lake City, was also westbound, but failed to notice the Kane truck was stopped and rear-ended it. Kane reported possible injuries, but was not transported for treatment. Zach was uninjured. There was a reported $4,500 in damage to each vehicle. Zach was cited for failure to maintain control.
