Authorities Launch Investigation Into Cause Of Jefferson Man’s Plane Crash Wednesday Morning

Authorities are investigating the cause of a small plane crash just outside of Greenfield Wednesday morning. The Adair County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a single-engine aircraft, piloted by 59-year-old Eric Chrystal of Jefferson, went down in a cornfield close to the Greenfield Municipal Airport and Iowa Aviation Museum shortly after 7 a.m. Minor injuries were reported, and the pilot was transported by Adair County Emergency Medical Services for treatment. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have launched an investigation into what caused the crash.
