Audubon School Board Selects New Middle And High School Principal At Special Meeting Friday Morning

Superintendent of the Audubon Community School District, Brett Gibbs, has announced the board of education has approved a contract for a fifth through 12th grade principal. A special meeting was held this morning (Friday) and Quentin Stanerson from Center Point was selected from the finalists. Stanerson has been a teacher and coach at North Linn Middle School and High School since 2004, where he taught social studies and coached football, wrestling and track during his tenure. Stanerson currently teaches government and economics. He also served on the North Linn Teacher Leadership planning committee and their technology committee. Stanerson’s impressive resume goes beyond the classroom and field of competition, he served as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Marine Corps and spent four years in the Iowa Legislature, where he sat on the Education and Veterans Affairs Committees. Stanerson, his wife and three children will be relocating to Audubon this summer.
