Auction Agreement Approved And Date Set For Sale Of Carroll County Farm

The Carroll county-owned farmland on Mahogany Avenue north of Carroll will be put up for sale at a public auction next month. At Monday’s Carroll County Board of Supervisor meeting, there was a unanimous decision to approve an agreement with auctioneers Gary Rupiper and Don Gerken. Neil Bock said Carroll County Attorney, John Werden, had requested the agreement be reviewed by his office and he reported it was adequate. The Saturday, Dec. 14, 10 a.m. auction, will take place in the third-floor courtroom at the Carroll County Courthouse. The sale bill lists a total of 113.62 taxable acres broken out into just over 100 farm acres and the remaining as pasture and pond. The current tax rate for the property is $22.03 per acre. The land will be sold as a single unit with 20 percent due the day of the sale and the balance to be paid on or before Feb. 25, 2020. The current lessee will have full privileges until March 1, 2020. A copy of the sale bill can be found below.
