Assaults, One With A Knife And One To A Jailer, And An Accidental Shooting Last Weekend In Jefferson

Three separate incidents required the involvement of the Jefferson Police Department over the course of the past weekend. A call came in to the Greene County Communication Center at approximately 7:54 p.m. Saturday that an assault with a knife had occurred in the 100 block of East Clark Street. The investigation resulted in the arrest of a homeless woman, 28-year-old Brianne Kara Wolf, for assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor, and assault, a simple misdemeanor. No injuries were reported in that incident. The other two calls came in on Sunday, the first at approximately 3:14 a.m. when an officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance in the 200 block of East Wilcoxway for a report of an accidental gunshot wound to the foot of an unidentified individual. Later that day, at approximately 2:49 p.m., an officer came to the assistance of the Greene County jailer, who was being assaulted by a prisoner. The officer was forced to use his Taser after several commands to the female prisoner were ignored. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office will handle all charges in that case. The name of the prisoner has not been released.
