Arrest Warrants Requested For Glidden Man Following Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Into Single-Vehicle Accident Near Bagley

The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office has requested an arrest warrant for a Glidden man following their investigation into a single-vehicle accident near Bagley earlier this month. A deputy responded to the 2600 block of 100th Street at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11. Law enforcement determined a 1998 GMC Sierra, driven by 39-year-old Nicholas Ray Wothe, had left the roadway and struck an embankment, coming to rest in a steep ditch. Wothe was found hunched over in the front seat and admitted to drinking a large amount of vodka and consuming many of his prescription pills. Due to his condition, Wothe was transported to Guthrie County Hospital by Guthrie County Emergency Medical Services for treatment. A blood sample was collected and sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) laboratory for additional testing. Results returned on Monday showed Wothe’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was .301, nearly four times the legal limit. An arrest warrant for Wothe has been requested for second-offense operating while intoxicated, an aggravated misdemeanor, failure to maintain control and open container. Wothe also faces unrelated charges in District Court for Carroll County for allegedly possessing a short-barreled shotgun outside Manning Regional Healthcare Center on Sept. 2.
