Area Fire Departments Respond To Storage Shed Fire In Carroll Friday Night

Several local fire departments were called to the scene of a storage shed fire on the southwestern edge of Carroll Friday night. Fire Chief, Greg Schreck, says the Carroll Fire Department responded to the 900 block of West 6th Street shortly after 9 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found the shed almost fully engulfed in flames. According to Schreck, they were unable to get into the structure and needed to utilize their ladder truck to battle the blaze. Due to the extensive damage, portions of the shed’s roof did collapse, but they were able to bring the fire under control. Crews remained on scene for several hours to monitor for flare ups. Schreck says it is unclear at this time what started the fire, and it may take several days before they determine a cause. The Glidden and Arcadia Fire Departments, Carroll Police Department, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Carroll County Emergency Medical Services assisted at the scene.
