An Ogden Woman Found Wandering In Greene County School Buildings Now Tied To Attempted Burglary

An Ogden woman found wandering in two different Greene County Community School buildings on Monday has now been tied to a burglary at a Jefferson business. The Jefferson Police Department reports that 36-year-old Jessica Jo Petersen was taken into custody on Monday morning after causing a lockdown at the Greene County Middle School, removing items from a locker room and a staff member’s car there and then entering the administration building just a few hours later. The department had also reported an attempted burglary at a business in the 1000 block of West Adams Street sometime in the overnight hours last Sunday. Employees found signs of an attempt to pry a door open when they reported to work Monday morning and some items were missing from the common area there. The investigation and evidence gathered from that scene and from Peterson after her arrest on Monday has led to a request for additional arrest warrants of third-degree burglary, a class D felony, and fifth-degree theft, a simple misdemeanor. These are in addition to an initial charge of unlawful possession of prescription drugs, a serious misdemeanor.
