Amnesty Bill Passes In U.S. House, Congressman King Comments On His No Vote

A bill that will provide amnesty to illegal immigrants who entered the United States as minors as well as those living here under Temporary Protected Status has passed through the House of Representatives. On Tuesday, HR 6, the American Dream and Promise Act, was approved on a vote of 236 to 187. Fourth District Congressman, Steve King, voted against the bill, saying that a release from the Office of the Republican Whip supported his stance, in that the language of the act made eligibility requirements so broad that from two to four million aliens of all ages will benefit from its passage. “By bringing HR 6 to the floor for a vote, House Democrats have shown they are chomping at the bit to undermine the Rule of Law in order to “Make Amnesty Great Again,” King says. “The Democrats know that their mass amnesty legislation has no chance of becoming law, but they moved it to the floor anyway because they can’t control their open-borders impulses.” King says he agrees with President Donald Trump about the need for an immigration policy that puts Americans first and the desires of illegal aliens last. He asserts that HR 6 does exactly the opposite. “The Democrats’ bill will even encourage illegal immigration because it doesn’t even contain one single penny for greater border security,” says King.
