For eight years now, Animal Rescue of Carroll has been hosting a very popular holiday event, Santa Paws. This year, area residents and their pets will be able to come together in the Christmas spirit Sunday, Nov. 17, but board member, Karen Schouten, wants everyone to be aware it will be at a new location.
Attendees can find 24 different artisans selling their crafts from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch is available at the school as well. The big attraction, however, is a couple that will be making a special appearance.
Animal Rescue will also have their four-legged friends who are up for adoption at the event so those interested in taking home a pet for the holidays can meet them in person. 2019 Calendars will be for sale and microchipping specials will also be available Sunday. There is no charge to attend Santa Paws. Schouten says that Animal Rescue is pleased to have placed a high number of pets in new homes. As of September of this year, they have adopted out 288 cats and dogs, for a total of almost 3,000 since they were formed.
