A Coon Rapids man has been charged after a search warrant showed a child in his home had access to methamphetamine. According to a criminal complaint from the Coon Rapids Police Department, 31-year-old Jacob Duane O’Tool was issued a summons to appear on Monday for child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor, and possession of a controlled substance—methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor. Authorities executed a search warrant in the 700 block of 6th Avenue on Jan. 24 and located trace amounts of methamphetamine in a location easily accessible to a small child at the residence. O’Tool is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Thursday, May 16 at the Carroll County Courthouse. If found guilty of the charges, he faces up to two years in prison and more than $8,000 in fines.
